Bullying, Part Deux

Well, I was right. You DO get more of what you count, and there are apparently no reasonable adults in charge of schools any more. This just in:

“Children as young as kindergarten-age could face misdemeanor charges for bullying under a proposed law advancing in a Southern California city.
The Carson City Council gave preliminary approval this week to an ordinance aimed at persons, including other youths, who cause anyone from kindergarten to age 25 to feel terrorized, harassed or threatened with no legitimate purpose.” http://news.yahoo.com/young-children-could-face-bullying-charges-city-164036847.html;_ylt=AwrTWfyoBm1T9SEAWpXQtDMD

Before I go on, let’s pause for a moment to consider that last sentence – “…with no legitimate purpose.” So, you can terrorize, harass, or threaten if you DO have a legitimate purpose.

This should not be done to a person with a head injury. It makes a buzzing sound when sheer stupidity hits my neurons.

Are you telling me that there are no teachers or parents (or city council members) who are able to manage school children who are misbehaving? It now must be done by coming up with a statute that will make ANY of these people do their jobs?

Is NO ONE raising their own children with values and (dare I use the word?) morals so they behave themselves, more or less, until they are what we now call adults?

What we are seeing is the codification of ALL behavior, so that no one is responsible for managing their own families.

Shame on all of them. How foolish we have become.

  1. We have stopped making them accept responsibility for their actions. Tyler Perry is correct when he says we need more more grandmothers/aunts/village participants called Medea. OR maybe just a good old fashion pop on the butt.
